“Pc – Panelle & Crocchè” the new Sicilian sitcom created for the Web

2 febbraio 2010 -  Traditional Sicilian food, sense of humour, sketches and a smell like home are the main ingredients of a brand new Sicilian sitcom thought and created for the Web.

The renowned “panelle”, which are famous local chickpea fritters and the potato croquettes (crocchè in Italian) give the title to this comic fiction, playing also with their initials PC that have a second meaning, referred to the personal computer, which is the only “place” where the sitcom can be seen.

The idea of creator Fabiana D’Urso was to make Sicily and its peculiarities accessible everywhere, trying to bring down barriers and borders like only the Web can do, but also spreading the authentic taste of this evocative Italian region, especially for those who are natives and maybe emigrates, or simply people who are fascinated by this island and desire to visit it right to the end.

Feel free to put comments and opinions… rigorously in English language!

    Thank you so much for your comments. It’s good to have different opinions, the only thing that I want to remind is that this is the very first experience of a web sitcom, so you may like it or not, but we definetely appreciate the pioneer efforts.

    Although I’ve some doubts about this is “very first” experience of a web-sitcom (in UK there’s already one much better than this!), I think it’s a very good idea to keep going and I appreciate all your efforts, BUT as we used to say in “SCOTLAND”: “There isn’t a worse deaf person than who does not want to listen (to good advices)”!
    I wish you luck and I hope you will find the right way.

    @Nick: What I meant was… the very first Sicilian experience of a sitcom. I am pretty sure in the Uk (and in the US) they already did something similar and you can actually put the link here so that we all can have a look at it.
    Ps – Do you know what is funny? … here in “SICILY” we have exactly the same saying… but I really don’t know which advice are you talking about!!!

    @Giorgia:
    I am afraid I can hardly believe this may be the very first Sicilian web sitcom, as long as you cannot find a way to prove it :)

    Actually, I sort of remember when they launched the 1st serie of Big Brother, there were some guys in some Gods’ forsaken Sicilian village who came up with a web version of that ..
